Job summary

The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Science Assistant to support the Cardiology service. You will work within an established team, assisting senior healthcare scientists in delivering a range of specialist invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations.

The role involves recording ECGs, assisting in exercise tolerance and tilt testing, arrhythmia monitoring, and providing community-based ECG clinics in Stoke on Trent.

Job description

In addition to ECG, this role involves assisting senior healthcare scientists in the provision of specialist clinics. The successful applicant will join an established team of 15 healthcare science assistants. The cardiology Department has an established training & development programme to provide the practical skills required for providing a range of specialist invasive & non-invasive cardiac investigations.

The main duties for this role will include recording ECG's, assisting in exercise tolerance & tilt testing, arrhythmia monitoring and the provision of community based ECG clinics in Stoke on Trent. Analysis and interpretation of clinical data & providing technical reports will be required.

Services are provided at various community settings across Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire as well as at both Royal Stoke, County Hospital and the new Community Diagnostic Centre. Candidates will need to be able to travel to each of these settings. We are the specialist centre for major trauma for the North Midlands and North Wales.
