Job summary

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Cancer Care Navigator to support patients through their cancer journey and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams in the Warwick area.

The role requires experience in cancer care or healthcare settings, strong communication skills, and a patient-centred approach. Visa sponsorship is available for qualifying applicants and the position is full-time and on-site in Warwick.

Qualifications

• Have relevant experience supporting patients with cancer or working in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Be able to communicate effectively face-to-face, by telephone and through email.
• Demonstrate empathy, patience and sensitivity when supporting patients and families.
• Have experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support patients diagnosed with cancer throughout their care and treatment journey.
• Help patients access appropriate cancer services, information and support.
• Work closely with healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Provide information and guidance to patients, their families and carers.
• Help patients navigate appointments, treatment pathways and relevant support services.
• Communicate with clinical teams and other departments to ensure patients receive timely assistance.
• Offer compassionate, patient-centred support while respecting dignity, confidentiality and individual needs.
• Contribute to improving the patient experience and the coordination of cancer care.
