Job summary

Nescot is hiring a Welfare and Student Support Officer to build trust with students, provide early support and informal mentoring, and respond to safeguarding and safety incidents across the campus in Ewell. You will patrol buildings, support wellbeing, and coordinate with Security, Safeguarding and Learning Support teams.

The role requires experience with young people aged 14–25, strong de-escalation and communication skills, and the ability to record incidents accurately.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• Strong communication, de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with young people aged 14 to 25 and distressed individuals.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with students and provide early support and mentoring.
• Maintain a visible presence and respond to welfare, safeguarding and safety incidents.
• Escalate concerns appropriately and support a calm learning environment.
• Work with Security, Safeguarding and Wellbeing teams and other campus services.
• Keep accurate records of incidents and actions taken.
