Job summary

University of Lancashire is seeking a Control Room Operator to monitor CCTV and security systems, respond to incidents, and guide colleagues across campus. You will work in a team with a calm, professional presence, ensuring information is recorded accurately and shared effectively.

The role operates on a rotating pattern of 2 x 12-hour days, 2 x 12-hour nights, followed by 4 rest days, with flexibility to support other shifts and campuses as required.

Qualifications

• GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent experiential learning are essential for this role.
• Experience in security or related environments is welcomed and transferable skills are valued.
• Ability to follow procedures meticulously and contribute to a safe campus environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage CCTV and security systems.
• Respond to enquiries and incidents and provide clear, helpful guidance.
• Liaise with campus officers to share information and record it accurately.
• Support a rotating shift pattern to cover 2 x 12-hour days and 2 x 12-hour nights.
