Job summary

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Bourne. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural needs, building positive relationships and supporting learning throughout the day.

The role requires experience with challenging behaviours, a calm and resilient approach, and the ability to follow individual support and safeguarding procedures. This supply position offers potential for permanent progression.

Qualifications

• Experience with challenging behaviours and pupils.
• Calm, patient and resilient under pressure.
• Able to build positive relationships with young people.
• Comfortable following individual support and behaviour plans.
• Strong communicator within a school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a role model.
• Promote positive behaviour with clear boundaries and encouragement.
• Support pupils during challenging situations using calm de-escalation.
• Help pupils re-engage with learning and build confidence.
• Work with teachers to follow individual support and behaviour plans.
• Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment and safeguarding procedures.
