Job summary

GSL Education Hull Branch is seeking a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistant for a school in Market Weighton. You will support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, helping them manage behaviour and engage with learning.

You should have experience with children/young people, strong communication, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries. DBS via Update Service or application is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and positive social interaction.
• Promote positive behaviour through calm, consistent, and restorative approaches.
• Help pupils engage with classroom activities and overcome barriers to learning.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider pastoral staff to monitor behaviour and support individual progress.
