Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant in Spilsby to support pupils with behavioural needs on a supply basis, with a view to move into a full-time/permanent role. You will work within a specialist school setting in Spilsby, providing 1:1 and small-group support, building positive relationships and supporting pupils to re-engage with learning.

We are looking for calm, resilient candidates experienced in education, care or support work.

Qualifications

Experience working with challenging behaviours in school, care or support settings.
Calm, patient and resilient demeanor with the ability to remain composed.
Confident at building positive relationships with young people.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Willing to work on a supply basis with potential for full-time/permanent role.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural needs.
Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a consistent role model.
Promote positive behaviour with clear boundaries and encouragement.
Support pupils during challenging situations using calm de-escalation strategies.
Help pupils re-engage with learning and develop confidence and independence.
Work with teachers and support staff to follow individual behaviour and support plans.
Promote a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
Follow safeguarding, behaviour and health & safety procedures.
