Job summary

Tesco Cafés is hiring a Team Leader to join one of our cafés. You will support the Manager, coach and develop the team, and ensure superb customer service while upholding food safety and hygiene standards.

You will open/close the café and oversee operations in the Manager's absence, recognising top performers and promoting an inclusive environment. You will need experience in hospitality with Team/Shift Leader responsibilities, a passion for service, and knowledge of Health & Safety practices.

Qualifications

• Background in hospitality with Team/Shift Leader experience.
• Passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Health & Safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational and safety standards to ensure smooth daily running.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene regulations are followed.
• Lead by example by delivering excellent customer service.
• Open and close the café and oversee full operations in the Manager's absence.
• Recognise and reward team members for great service.
• Learn the menu inside out and help the team do the same.
• Help boost sales by ensuring staffing aligns with demand.
• Deliver Health & Safety and Food Safety training for team members.
• Support the Café Manager with coaching and development of colleagues.
• Seek ways to continually improve customer service.
