Job summary

Tesco Cafés is seeking a Team Leader to join our fast-paced cafés. You’ll support the Manager, coach team members, and help deliver a great customer experience while maintaining safety standards.

With a background in hospitality and Team/Shift Leader experience, you’ll lead by example, open and close shifts, and look for ways to improve service. Tesco offers flexible working options and development opportunities in an inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• A background in hospitality, with Team/Shift Leader experience.
• A passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Health & Safety knowledge and Food Safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining operational and safety standards to ensure smooth running.
• Ensuring all food safety and hygiene regulations are met and followed.
• Leading by example by providing an excellent experience for customers.
• Opening and closing the café and overseeing full operations in the Manager’s absence.
• Recognising and celebrating team members for providing excellent service.
• Learning the menu inside out and helping the team to do the same.
• Boosting sales by ensuring staff are in the right place at the right time.
• Delivering Health & Safety and Food Safety training for team members.
• Supporting the Café Manager with coaching and development of colleagues.
• Seeking ways to continuously improve our service for customers.
• Promoting an inclusive environment where colleagues feel respected, valued and safe.
