Job summary

EE Limited in Stevenage seeks a Cable and Harness Design Engineer to join the Interconnects Team within Electronic Engineering. The role is hybrid, split 2–3 days on site, with a 12-month contract (Inside IR35) at £50 per hour umbrella.

The successful candidate will design cables and interconnects using Zuken E3, produce schematics, support E3 workflows, and address manufacturing and environmental requirements across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years' experience with E3 (Zuken) and related cable design.
• Cable and related products are beneficial (E3.Formboard / E3.3D Transformer).
• Ability to define, deploy and refine E3 processes: topology, wiring schematics, 2D drawings.
• Proven ability to deliver technical instruction to E3 users.
• Understand product data management and change control (Windchill).
• Design cable assemblies considering electrical constraints and EMC requirements.
• Experience with cable assembly production/process engineering.

Responsibilities

• Interpret subsystem requirements.
• Generate electrical schematics and cable design definitions using Zuken E3.
• Support E3 users and integrate E3 throughout product development.
• Investigate cable problems and develop solutions as part of a project team.
• Guide other areas to resolve manufacturing issues and support product trials.
• Read and support E3 workflow process development and capability improvements.
