An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and highly organised individual to join a Burnley-based primary school as a Business Support Officer, commencing in September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only position.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the effective operation of the school’s office and wider administrative functions. Key responsibilities will include:

Providing general administrative and clerical support to senior leaders and staff

Supporting the management of HR, finance, attendance, and admissions procedures

Acting as a first point of contact for parents, carers, and external visitors

Maintaining and updating school systems and databases, including SIMS or similar platforms

Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and data protection legislation

Person Specification:

Applicants must demonstrate:

Previous administrative experience within a school setting or a similar environment (essential)

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management information systems

A professional, discreet, and courteous manner at all times

The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and proactive approach
