Job summary

Actemium Automation Nottingham, part of VINCI Energies, is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow automation services across manufacturing, process and regulated sectors in the region. You will build new client relationships, manage strategic accounts and drive commercial growth with senior stakeholders.

The role blends technical automation knowledge with strong commercial acumen, requiring bid leadership, pipeline management and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in business development, sales or account management within industrial automation, controls, engineering or related sectors.
• Solid understanding of PLC, SCADA, HMI and MES concepts and experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills with experience preparing bids, terms and contractual documentation.

Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and win new business opportunities for Actemium’s automation, controls and systems integration services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, acting as the primary commercial contact and trusted advisor.
• Lead proposal development, including bids, quotations, statements of work and value propositions with technical teams.
• Manage the sales pipeline and forecast revenue to achieve regional growth targets and business plan objectives.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management and delivery teams to align commercial commitments with technical scope.
• Represent Actemium at client meetings, industry events and conferences to raise profile and generate leads.
• Negotiate commercial terms and contractual arrangements with adherence to company policies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes, CRM usage and marketing initiatives.
