Job summary
Actemium Automation Teesside is seeking a commercially focused Business Development Manager to drive growth by identifying new opportunities and building client relationships across our sectors. You will develop a strong sales pipeline and support bids, proposals, and presentations in collaboration with senior leadership and delivery teams.
The role involves working with engineering and automation teams, travel to client sites, and contributing to pricing and bid strategies.
Qualifications
- Experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within engineering, automation, industrial services or similar sectors.
- Proven ability to generate leads and develop new business opportunities.
- Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
- Experience supporting proposals, quotations or tender submissions.
- Confident using CRM systems, LinkedIn and digital engagement tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools.
- Develop client relationships and act as a trusted commercial contact.
- Support the preparation of proposals, tenders and presentations.
- Contribute to pricing, commercial negotiations and bid strategies.
- Deliver targeted marketing and networking activities to generate leads.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
