Job Title: Business Development Manager – Racking & Shelving Solutions

Location: Midlands or North of England (Field-Based / Hybrid)

Industry: Industrial Storage Solutions (Racking, Shelving, Mezzanine Floors)

Salary: Competitive + Commission + Car Allowance + Benefits

Our client is a leading UK manufacturer of high-quality racking and shelving systems, delivering bespoke storage solutions across warehousing, logistics, retail, and industrial sectors. With a reputation for reliability and innovation, they continue to set the standard in the storage solutions industry.

John Charles Search is proud to be representing this industry leader in their search for a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to cover the Midlands and North of England.

Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented sales professional to take ownership of a key region, driving new business development while managing and growing existing client relationships. You'll work closely with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that solve real operational challenges for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful Business Development Manager will:

  • Drive new business sales in the Midlands and North across a wide range of sectors
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers in warehousing, logistics, retail, and industrial environments
  • Deliver consultative sales support, understanding customer needs and providing effective racking and shelving solutions
  • Manage the full sales process from lead generation through to deal closure
  • Collaborate with technical and production teams to ensure delivery of accurate and effective solutions

Candidate Profile:

The successful Business Development Manager will:

  • Have a proven success in sales, ideally in racking, shelving, or related storage/industrial solutions
  • Possess a strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills
  • Be highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Ideally be situated in the Midlands or North of England, with flexibility to travel
  • Boast excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Package:

The successful Business Development Manager will receive:

  • Competitive base salary + commission (OTE £80k).
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Company pension and additional benefits
