Job Description:

I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation and stable client base. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance international team. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and industry-leading clinical experts, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.

The role is an individual sales contributor position, primarily remote, focusing on the UK and Western Europe. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in the region, selling full CRO solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Achieving sales and business development targets
• Developing and executing business strategies for target markets
• Prospecting to build a pipeline of opportunities and RFPs
• Using Salesforce to track client activities and opportunities
• Managing the sales process from lead generation to closing
• Leading proposal development with the team to meet client expectations
• Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
• Providing marketing input to support business development
• Contributing to sales targets and strategies with leadership
• Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation
• Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
• Collaborating with research staff to leverage travel schedules for sales
