Job Description:

I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation, stable client base, and consistent growth. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance international team. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and industry-leading clinical experts, within a collaborative culture.

The position is an individual sales contributor role, primarily remote, focusing on the UK and Western Europe. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in the region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.

Your duties will include:

• Achieving sales and business development targets.
• Developing and executing strategies for target markets.
• Prospecting to build a pipeline of opportunities and RFPs, qualifying leads for competitive advantage, timing, budget, and decision-makers.
• Using Salesforce to track activities and update opportunities.
• Leading the sales process for generated and received leads.
• Managing proposal development to align with client expectations and timelines.
• Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
• Collaborating with marketing to support business development strategies.
• Providing input on sales targets and strategies based on territory and industry knowledge.
• Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation.
• Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions.
• Maximizing opportunities with internal research staff.
