Role Overview

Howden is seeking a Business Analyst to play a key role in supporting change and project delivery across the business, with a particular focus on the Acturis broking platform. This role combines business process analysis, technical configuration, document management, and user support. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to deliver solutions that drive efficiency, compliance, and business value.

Job Scope

  • Analyse and evaluate business requests, identifying opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements and create Business Requirement Documents.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Manage small change and support requests.
  • Configure and maintain the Acturis broking platform, including document templates and system enhancements.
  • Develop and modify Acturis document templates to align with business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Build Acturis reports to support business needs.
  • Build task workflows within Acturis to support business needs.
  • Provide user support and guidance on system functionality.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to prioritise and deliver change initiatives.
  • Lead and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and functional testing, including the creation of test scripts and scenarios.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process guides, user manuals, and knowledge articles.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA, GDPR, anti-money laundering, Bribery Act 2010, and other relevant regulations.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the Acturis broking system.
  • Experience in Acturis configuration, including document templates and reporting.
  • Proven experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and process improvement within a regulated environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements for business users.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with Howden’s operational landscape and the broader insurance sector.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of insurance industry challenges and system-driven solutions.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines while adhering to SLA requirements.

Experience & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2+ years of customer facing experience in commercial or personal lines insurance.
  • 3+ years within a Business Analyst role (desirable).
  • 3+ years of experience supporting the Acturis broking application (desirable).
  • Qualifications in business analysis (desirable).

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to the principles set by the FCA, Howden regulations, GDPR, anti-money laundering laws, the Bribery Act 2010, and applicable sanctions.
  • Uphold Howden’s service standards and procedures, always acting in the best interests of clients.

Additional Information

  • A valid, clean driving license and willingness to travel occasionally as required.
