Devon Partnership Trust is seeking an exceptional Administrator to lead the administrative service for our Adult Community Mental Health Team based at Estuary House, Newton Abbot. The 30-hour post can be worked across 4 or 5 days, delivering high-quality support to patients, clinicians and managers.

Join our dedicated Adult Community Mental Health Team and make a real difference every day. We are seeking an exceptional Administrator to lead our administrative service, ensuring patients, clinicians and managers receive the high-quality support they need. This is a varied, rewarding and influential role within a friendly and supportive team. Based in Newton Abbot, the 30-hour post can be worked across either 4 or 5 days., This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the administrative service for our busy Adult Community Mental Health Team based at Estuary House. Our Business Administrator plays a key role in supporting patients, clinicians and managers, helping to ensure the delivery of a responsive, high-quality service alongside keen and engaged colleagues. You will lead a dedicated team of administrators in a positive and supportive environment where staff feel valued, motivated and empowered to succeed. Responsibilities include line management, recruitment, staff development and maintaining high standards of performance and service delivery. Working closely with the Clinical Team Manager, you will help drive continuous improvement by developing and refining systems and processes that enable clinicians to work efficiently and maximise the time they spend supporting patients. You will promote effective communication, collaboration and problem-solving across the team. The role includes minuting meetings, maintaining staffing and patient systems, ensuring compliance with Trust standards and fostering a culture of teamwork and engagement. We are looking for a proactive and organised leader with excellent IT skills, strong attention to detail and outstanding organisational abilities. Most importantly, you will be passionate about supporting others and making a real difference to both staff and patients.

  • Level 4 Diploma in Business Administration (or equivalent qualification or experience)
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development relevant to the role, ICDL (International Computer Driving License), or equivalent experience, Significant experience of working within a busy administrative, operational or healthcare environment;
  • Experience of coordinating administrative services and supporting teams to meet service objectives and performance standards;
  • Experience of supporting managers with workforce, governance, performance or operational activities;
  • Experience of using multiple IT systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications to manage workloads and maintain accurate record;
  • Experience of producing accurate reports, meeting documentation and correspondence to a high standard., Previous experience in a Healthcare or Social Care administrative setting, Ability to manage diverse workload whilst dealing with frequent interruptions;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure;
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
Team Management Skills
  • Ability to plan, organise, prioritise, coordinate and work flexibly;
  • Able to deal with difficult situations amidst a complex workforce environment.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision on a day to day basis;
  • Proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail when processing information and records.
  • Ability to recognise and manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner., Formal or informal management training;
  • Formal or informal health rostering/staff workforce training;
  • Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures.
