Job summary

Arriva is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day bus operations, supporting drivers and depot staff to deliver safe, punctual services. You will monitor performance, allocate resources and drive continuous improvement in operations and customer service across the network.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in transport operations, and a proactive approach to managing incidents and ensuring regulatory compliance within a busy transport environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Operations Supervisor, Transport Supervisor or Duty Manager role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Experience managing operational performance and KPIs.
• Knowledge of transport operations, scheduling and resource planning.
• Understanding of health and safety and compliance within a transport environment.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and operational systems.
• Flexibility to work shifts, evenings and weekends where required.
• A full valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Supervising, motivating and supporting operational staff and bus drivers.
• Managing daily bus service delivery, route coverage and resource allocation.
• Monitoring punctuality, reliability and operational performance across services.
• Supporting driver welfare, performance management and employee development.
• Investigating operational incidents, customer complaints and service disruptions.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies and transport legislation.
• Working closely with engineering and depot teams to maintain fleet availability.
• Producing operational reports and maintaining accurate records.
• Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
