Job summary

Arriva TrainCare in Gillingham is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of our bus services, allocate driving duties, and act as the first point of contact for drivers during shifts. You will help deliver a safe, regulatory compliant operation, monitor KPI performance, respond to incidents, and drive continuous improvements in customer and colleague experience.

This full-time role offers rotating shifts (5 days out of 7) and a 40-hour week, with a focus

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience with strong operational management.
• Proficient in Health and Safety practices.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Strong coaching and communication skills.
• Customer-focused with effective IT skills.
• Industry knowledge (PCV/HGV).
• Experience working with Trade Unions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace, identify risks, and encourage proactive safety measures.
• Respond positively to customer inquiries, manage complaints effectively, and oversee lost property procedures.
• Support a culture of Arriva values, ensure timely briefings for drivers, oversee uniform compliance, and facilitate staff training and development.
• Manage operational systems, monitor standards, and ensure efficient duty allocation.
• Record hours accurately, optimize duty allocation, and focus on cost-efficiency.
• Contribute to daily KPI tracking, share best practices, and support site improvement initiatives.
• Uphold and promote the organization’s values in all interactions.
