Job summary

Amey is recruiting Building Surveyors for its Advisory Consulting team across UK regions. The role involves delivering full surveying services, supporting design and asset management teams, and ensuring Building Regulations/CDM compliance.

You will contribute to bids, prepare asset data, and liaise with clients while travelling to sites as needed. Ideal candidates hold RICS accreditation, have multi-disciplinary experience, and possess strong stakeholder communication skills.

Qualifications

• Chartered Member of RICS or educated to RICS accredited degree level (or equivalent work experience)
• Associate Membership RICS or similarly evidenced progression with a related institution – e.g. CIOB
• Experience in a similar role with a broad range of technical services
• Multi-disciplinary environment with asset surveys and conditioning experience
• Procurement and delivery of major works programmes including contract/project management and stakeholder consultation
• Knowledge of regulation/contractual requirements in Health, Education, Justice
• Understanding of Building Regulations, Planning, Health & Safety, Environmental, Sustainability and Net Zero Carbon
• M&E understanding on asset maintenance
• Updating asset management systems
• Defect analysis and remediation, planned maintenance strategy and advice
• Strong project management/coordination skills
• Ability to prioritise and plan
• IOSH working safely (training available)
• Strong stakeholder management
• Experience of CAD, Revit or technology-based solutions
• Ability to generate new work from within the business and externally
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Flexible, agile worker with travel/working away from home
• Team-oriented, supervising junior staff
• Bid preparation and work winning

Responsibilities

• Provide sound technical skills across the full range of surveying activities
• Support Design Teams, Asset Management Teams and end clients
• Advising clients and guiding projects through fee build up, liaison, delivery and close out
• Act as Principal Designer for Building Regulations and CDM as training allows
