Job summary

Amey is a leading infrastructure consultancy and operations partner across the UK. We are seeking a permanent Principal Building Surveyor to provide technical leadership in building surveying, oversee complex commissions and guide multidisciplinary teams.

You will drive client engagement, business development and bid leadership while ensuring delivery within budgets and regulatory standards. The role offers opportunities for mentoring and strategic growth within Amey's Advisory team.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a relevant degree and RICS/CIOB membership.
• Extensive post-qualification building surveying experience.
• Experience across defect diagnosis, condition and measured surveys, dilapidations, and Party Wall.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations and CDM 2015.
• Proven bid leadership and work-winning track record.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical teams and supervise clients and suppliers.
• Prepare reports, specs, drawings and schedules.
• Own commercial performance and budget control.
• Lead bid preparation and framework submissions.
• Provide project management across refurbishment and capital works.
• Maintain client engagement and business development.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and CDM 2015.
• Mentor junior staff and develop talent.
