Overview

A great opportunity has come up for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a large, well-established consultancy who offer the full range of Building Surveying services to its clients. The company offers progression opportunities and APC training, making it suitable for someone looking for the next step in their career or a seasoned Surveyor seeking a new challenge.

Responsibilities
  • Produce carefully prepared, accurate work and have good report writing skills.
  • Present confidently whether written or verbal and demonstrate strong numeracy skills.
  • Maintain operational awareness of administrative and project cost management and understand commercially focused delivery and resource use.
  • Prioritise conflicting workloads and manage own time effectively.
  • Present a professional image, especially when client facing, and demonstrate a confident persona with good negotiation skills.
  • Work independently while contributing to a strong team and supporting the development of a Building Surveying team.
  • Demonstrate ambition and commitment to self and business development.
  • Be computer literate (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Microsoft Project).
  • Be willing to travel as project commissions require and hold a full driving licence.
Candidate requirements
  • Minimum 3–4 years consultancy experience with a broad working knowledge of building surveying services across different client sectors.
  • Ability to evidence experience across sectors including Hotels, Build Environment, Local Authority/Councils (experience in similar sectors is preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to work independently with a strong team spirit and positive attitude to service delivery.
  • Experience delivering core building surveying services such as: developing client briefs; contract administration/project delivery; dilapidations/landlord and tenant; party wall; JCT contract administration (minor and IF); defect analysis and rectifications; technical compliance roles; specification writing; producing schedules of work; design (AutoCAD experience is an advantage).
