Smile Education are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school based in Wolverhampton who are seeking an experienced BSL Trained Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils who are hearing impaired, helping them to fully access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to children with hearing impairments.
  • Use British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively and assist learning.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver high-quality support.
  • Help to create an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Contribute to pupils’ social and emotional development.
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • BSL training and experience supporting pupils with hearing impairments.
  • Recent experience in a similar role within a school setting.
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through Smile Education).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
