Job summary

AECOM invites applications for an Industrial or Summer Placement in our Bridges team. You will gain hands-on experience across a range of technical activities, including producing CAD drawings and supporting structural design tasks.

As a Civil or Structural Engineering student with a 2:1 expected degree, you’ll contribute to project administration, review data, and collaborate with engineers across disciplines while visiting sites and observing conditions. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil or Structural Engineering degree with expected 2:1 or higher.
• Interest in bridge structures and structural engineering.
• Some prior exposure to an engineering environment is desirable.
• Interest in software-based engineering and design (e.g., CAD, 3D modelling).

Responsibilities

• Producing CAD drawings and supporting structural design tasks.
• Assisting with project administration, record-keeping, and documentation.
• Reviewing and analysing technical data to inform engineering decisions.
• Contributing to problem-solving and developing design solutions under supervision.
• Participating in site visits to gather information or observe conditions.
• Collaborating with engineers across AECOM disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Applying health and safety practices during site and office-based tasks.
