Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Bridge Engineer to join its Consulting Structures Team in Stafford. This hybrid role offers shared office space in Stafford and flexible regional applications, with involvement in major National Highways schemes across the Midlands.

The candidate will produce designs, calculations, and documentation, support project delivery from start to finish, and guide junior staff while pursuing professional accreditation with ICE or IStructE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject.
• Demonstrable equivalent further learning.
• Evidence toward Incorporated or Chartered status with ICE or IStructE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Producing technically sound engineering solutions.
• Taking ownership and supporting delivery of projects from start to finish.
• Preparation of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation to meet quality, cost and programme.
• Supporting and guiding junior staff undertaking similar tasks.
• Contributing to professional development of junior staff and pursuing your own professional development.
• Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level and attending progress meetings.
