Job summary

SIXT Van & Truck, part of SIXT Group, is seeking a Breakdown Response Agent in the UK to coordinate reactive maintenance and breakdown incidents during hours 08:00–17:00, Monday–Friday. You will be the primary contact for drivers and customers, arranging rapid responses through our repairer network to minimise downtime.

You will source temporary replacement vehicles, manage handovers from external partners, authorize repairs, and maintain records for cost reporting and defect analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience in reactive coordination, customer service or logistics roles.
• Calm under pressure with clear, swift decision-making.
• Strong communication skills and reassuring telephone manner.
• Excellent organisation to manage multiple live incidents.
• Comfortable using computer systems and databases.
• Experience in fleet, roadside assistance, transport or automotive environments (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Receive and assess inbound breakdown and urgent repair calls.
• Coordinate rapid responses through repairers or breakdown partners and arrange vehicle recovery as needed.
• Source and arrange temporary replacement vehicles to keep drivers mobile.
• Manage daily handovers from the external breakdown partner and prioritise ongoing repairs.
• Authorise reactive repairs, create purchase orders, and monitor repair progress.
• Maintain accurate records, verify invoices, and support cost reporting and defect pattern identification.

Job Description

The Breakdown Response Agent is responsible for the prompt and effective coordination of reactive maintenance and breakdown incidents during operational hours (currently 08:00–17:00, Monday–Friday). The role acts as the primary point of contact for drivers and customers experiencing vehicle breakdowns or urgent defects, coordinating rapid response through the approved repairer network and external breakdown partner to minimise vehicle downtime and keep drivers safe and mobile.
