Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a Branch Supervisor in Havant to oversee daily branch operations and support the Branch Manager. The role focuses on customer service, sales growth, and team supervision at the trade counter.

You will supervise staff, assist customers, and help drive profitability while ensuring smooth warehouse and branch processes. This full-time role offers benefits and opportunities within a leading UK merchant network.

Qualifications

• Previous industry or merchant experience preferred.
• Experience as a Supervisor in a face-to-face sales environment is essential.
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Manager's absence.
• Comfortable making outbound sales calls to gain new business.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Branch Manager with the day to day running and operations within the branch and take charge when they are not available
• Supervising and supporting colleagues, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to achieve targets and goals
• Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge
• Developing the customer base, improving retention, satisfaction, product mix, and range
• Identifying and recommending ways to improve profits
• Building rapport with suppliers
• General warehouse duties including, goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders (this will involve manual handling heavy stock i.e., toilets, sinks, boilers, and radiators)
• Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures

Contract & Working Hours

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.

Requirements

• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable
• Prior experience as a Supervisor within a Face-to-Face sales environment is essential
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Managers absence
• Someone who is comfortable making outbound sales calls to customers to gain new business
• To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly
