Job summary

Wolseley’s Plumb Centre Swindon branch is hiring a Branch Supervisor to help run daily operations, supervise staff and serve customers on the trade counter. You will develop the customer base and work with suppliers to improve profitability while managing warehouse duties and local 3.5T deliveries.

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri 07:30–17:00 and Saturday on a rota 08:00–12:00. A full driving licence is essential and prior supervision in a trade environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Full Driving Licence is essential.
• Previous industry or merchant experience preferable.
• Experience as a Supervisor in a Face to Face sales environment essential.
• Willingness to run the branch in the Branch Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Assist Branch Manager with day-to-day running and cover in their absence.
• Supervise and support colleagues with training and performance feedback to hit targets.
• Serve customers on trade counter with product knowledge.
• Develop customer base, improve retention and mix.
• Identify ways to improve profits and build supplier rapport.
• Handle general warehouse duties and goods in/out, picking/packing.
• Drive a 3.5T van delivering to customers locally.
