Job description

Bodyshop Repairer / Strip & Fitter who has experience dismantling and reassembling vehicles with an eye for detail and great team working skills is required for a well-established and successful vehicle body repair and paint shop based in Upminster, Essex.

Candidates will need previous experience in a similar role. The company is also going through a period of growth and will also consider candidates who have worked as a Panel Beater / Vehicle Body Repair / Bodyshop Technician / Accident Repair Technician / Vehicle Prepper / Vehicle MET Technician or similar.

SALARY: Competitive

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Bodyshop Repairer / Strip & Fitter who has experience dismantling and reassembling vehicles with an eye for detail and great team working skills.

As the Bodyshop Repairer / Strip & Fitter you will join the company’s busy and well-respected bodyshop that repairs vehicles.

Working as a Bodyshop Repairer / Strip & Fitter you will help prep the vehicles for repairs and/or paint, ensuring all parts and panels are removed carefully and stored safely for reassembly once the vehicle has been repaired or painted.

DUTIES

  1. Carefully and efficiently stripping down damaged vehicles, removing panels, bumpers, lighting units, interior trims, and mechanical/electrical components as required for repair.
  2. Accurately identifying and cataloguing removed parts, ensuring nothing goes astray.
  3. Preparing vehicles for bodywork repairs and paintwork, ensuring all necessary components are removed to allow for a high-quality finish.
  4. Precisely fitting new or repaired panels, trims, and mechanical/electrical components to manufacturer standards.
  5. Ensuring all fitted parts are secure, aligned correctly, and function as intended.
  6. Working collaboratively with other members of the bodyshop team, including Panel Beaters and Paint Sprayers.
  7. Maintaining a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Proven experience as a Strip & Fit Technician, MET Technician, or similar role within a bodyshop environment.
  2. A solid understanding of vehicle construction and componentry.
  3. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  4. The ability to work efficiently and accurately, even under pressure.
  5. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to use your own initiative.
  6. A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  7. A full UK driving licence is preferred.
