Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Behaviour Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEMH provision in Chorley to start in September. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, with a pathway from temporary to permanent for the right candidate.

You will support pupils aged 6-16 with SEMH and SEND, build positive relationships, implement behaviour strategies and work with staff to promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.

Qualifications

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
  • Has a calm, resilient and patient approach.
  • Can build strong professional relationships and act as a positive role model.
  • Is confident managing challenging behaviour in a consistent and supportive manner.
  • Has experience in education, youth work, care, support work, sports coaching or similar sectors (desirable).
  • Holds a valid DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.

  • Support learners both inside and outside of the classroom.

Are you passionate about supporting young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support to achieve their potential?

We are recruiting for a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH provision in Chorley from September. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, with the opportunity to progress from a temporary position to a permanent contract for the right candidate.

This specialist setting supports pupils aged 6-16 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, associated anxiety and additional SEND requirements. The school provides a highly nurturing, therapeutic environment where positive relationships, individualised learning and emotional wellbeing are at the heart of everything they do. Pupils benefit from tailored support designed to help them rebuild confidence, develop resilience and re-engage with education.

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
