Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking a resilient and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist alternative provision in Bolton. This role focuses on supporting pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, ADHD and ASC, to re-engage with education in a nurturing environment.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group behavioural support, build relationships, and work with staff to promote pupil progress and wellbeing. Driving licence and DBS are required or in process.

Qualifications

  • Experience with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group behavioural support.

Behaviour Support Assistant

Bolton | Full-Time | Term Time Only | Immediate/September Start

Teaching Personnel are seeking a resilient and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist alternative provision in Bolton. This setting supports young people aged 11-16 who face barriers to mainstream education, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, ADHD, Autism (ASC), trauma‑related needs, anxiety, and difficulties with emotional regulation.

The provision offers a highly supportive and nurturing environment, focusing on re‑engaging pupils with education, developing positive relationships, and equipping students with the skills and confidence needed to achieve positive outcomes both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group behavioural support.
