Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary SEMH provision in Blackburn for a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time position, initially through the agency, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract following a successful temporary period.
The school provides a nurturing and highly supportive learning environment for pupils aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many pupils have experienced barriers to education and require consistent, patient adults who can build positive relationships, promote engagement, and support emotional regulation. The school delivers a broad curriculum alongside therapeutic approaches, helping pupils develop both academically and personally.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, whether gained in education, youth work, care, residential settings, coaching, or similar environments.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one), satisfactory references, and all safer recruitment checks.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
