Job summary

Gsl Education is seeking a Behaviour Support (SEN) specialist to assist pupils in a Sheffield setting. You will provide tailored support for behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation, working with teaching staff to implement individual strategies and maintain routines.

The role involves small-group and one-to-one work, ensuring a calm, safe classroom and positive participation in learning. You will help with transitions and observe feedback for staff planning.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resilience and the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
• A genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Experience in education, care, pastoral support or behaviour support is advantageous.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them feel confident in the classroom? A supportive SEN setting in Sheffield S5 is looking for a patient and committed Behaviour Support professional to join their team.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support (SEN), you will provide tailored support to pupils who may need additional help with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning. You will work closely with teaching staff to maintain clear routines, encourage positive choices and help pupils manage challenges throughout the school day.

The role will involve supporting individuals and small groups, helping pupils access lessons and responding calmly when additional behavioural support is needed. Your consistency and understanding can make a real difference to pupils' day-to-day experience at school.
