Job summary

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a confident and compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision Base within a secondary school in Newport.

You will support students throughout the school day, providing encouragement, structure and consistency, and work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to help access learning and build positive relationships.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to obtain one.
• EWC registration (support provided if required).
• Two professional references covering a 24-month period.
• Completion of a Level 2 Safeguarding course during onboarding.
• Age 18 or over.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-to-one or in small intervention groups.
• Help students remain engaged during lessons and activities.
• Encourage positive communication and social interaction.
• Contribute to a safe and nurturing learning environment.
