Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants in Shaftesbury to support pupils’ behaviour, engagement and wellbeing in classrooms. You will work closely with teachers, delivering 1:1 and small-group support in both mainstream and SEN settings.

The role requires a patient, reliable approach, strong communication and teamwork, and a commitment to safeguarding. Hours are 8:30am–4:00pm, with term-time schedules and potential pay variations based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people (essential)
  • A patient, positive and reliable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Confidence supporting behaviour and learning needs
  • A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Relevant qualifications (desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils in lessons, both 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assisting the teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs, including SEND
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting inclusion
  • Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and development
  • Assisting with breaktime supervision and school activities
