Location: Blackburn
Contract: Temporary (January start - until Summer 2026)
Hours: Full-time, term‑time only

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our large, vibrant primary school in Blackburn. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children by supporting positive behaviour and helping them thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with teachers and the pastoral team to support pupils with behavioural needs.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well‑being.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, helping them engage in learning.
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
  • Monitor and record progress, reporting to the SENCO and class teachers.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting (preferably primary).
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEND support.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
