Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting Sports Coaches to support children and young people across primary and secondary schools in the UK. This role uses sport to build positive relationships, improve behaviour and help pupils develop confidence and resilience.

We welcome candidates with experience in sports coaching, mentoring or youth work. Many roles are long-term with competitive daily rates and opportunities across different school settings.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sports Coach or Youth Worker with children and young people.
• Strong ability to build positive relationships and support SEMH needs.
• Capable of managing groups and promoting resilience through sport.

Responsibilities

• Using sport and physical activity to engage pupils.
• Delivering sports sessions and physical activities.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring.
• Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Working with teachers and pastoral teams to track progress.
• Encouraging confidence, teamwork and school engagement.
• Supporting pupils with attitudes toward learning and attendance.
• Creating a safe, inclusive environment during sessions.

Aspire People are recruiting Sports Coaches to support children and young people across primary and secondary schools.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Sports Coach, Football Coach, PE Coach or Youth Worker who wants to use sport as a way of building positive relationships, improving behaviour and helping young people develop confidence and resilience.

You do not need to have worked as a Teaching Assistant previously. We are interested in candidates with strong experience working with children and young people through sport, coaching, mentoring or youth work.

The Role:

• Using sport and physical activity to engage pupils
• Supporting pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs
• Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model
• Delivering sports and physical activity sessions
• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring
• Supporting pupils with confidence, resilience and teamwork
• Helping pupils develop positive attitudes towards school and learning
• Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral teams

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience as a Sports Coach, Football Coach, PE Coach, Youth Worker or similar
• Professional experience working with children or young people
• Confident managing groups and challenging behaviour
• Passionate about sport and youth development
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, energetic and resilient approach
• Able to use sport to engage pupils who may struggle in a traditional classroom
