Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for Behaviour Mentors and Learning Support Assistants to help pupils in Ipswich engage with education, manage emotions and reach their potential. Roles involve one-to-one and small-group support, collaborating with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and foster positive behaviour.

Ideal candidates bring patience, empathy, and strong communication skills, with experience in schools, SEND, youth work, or related areas.

Qualifications

Ability to build relationships with young people.
Calm and consistent in difficult situations.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Genuine interest in helping young people overcome barriers.

Responsibilities

Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils needing emotional, behavioural or educational support.
Helping pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience and coping strategies.
Supporting pupils to manage challenging situations and make positive choices.
Providing one-to-one and small-group support to encourage engagement with learning.
Helping teachers deliver engaging lessons and adapt support to individual needs.
Promoting positive behaviour, clear boundaries and consistency throughout the school day.
Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills.
Working closely with teachers and other professionals to provide a structured learning environment.
