Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd is recruiting Behaviour Mentors to support students across secondary schools in Staffordshire, including Cannock, Stafford, Stone and Lichfield. The role involves mentoring students with behavioural, emotional or pastoral needs, building trusting relationships and supporting SEMH, ADHD and other conditions.

Weekly pay is offered for full-time, part-time and flexible opportunities. A DBS check is required, and paid training including safeguarding is provided, with ongoing

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care or similar settings.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour management.
  • Ability to remain positive and professional in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring for students who require additional behavioural, emotional or pastoral support.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students to improve confidence, resilience and engagement in school.
  • Supporting students with SEMH, ADHD, Autism (ASC), anxiety and other additional needs.
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual behaviour plans in collaboration with teaching and pastoral staff.
  • Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom to encourage positive behaviour and successful learning outcomes.
  • Assisting with emotional regulation, conflict resolution and the development of social skills.
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENDCO, pastoral teams and parents/carers to provide consistent support.
  • Monitoring student progress, recording observations and contributing to strategies that promote attendance, wellbeing and achievement.
  • Acting as a positive role model, encouraging students to make positive choices and reach their full potential.

Behaviour Mentors Needed – Secondary Schools Across Staffordshire

Stafford | Stone | Cannock | Lichfield

Postcodes: ST15, ST16, ST17, ST18, WS11, WS12, WS13 & WS14

Salary: £95–£120 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential? We're recruiting dedicated Behaviour Mentors to support students in welcoming secondary schools across Staffordshire.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals with experience in education, youth work, coaching, support work, residential care, mentoring or SEND, who are committed to making a positive impact on students' lives.

Your role will include:
