Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming school in Marlow, supporting students' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development.

You will provide targeted 1:1 and small group support, build trusting relationships, and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to remove barriers to learning. This full-time role starts September 2026; an enhanced DBS and safeguarding compliance are required.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach when supporting challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries with students.
  • Genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve potential.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
  • Build positive relationships with students and act as a consistent, supportive role model.
  • Assist students in developing positive behaviour, emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and social skills.
  • Implement individual behaviour support strategies and contribute to behaviour improvement plans where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams, SENCOs, and other staff to identify and address barriers to learning.
  • Support students with additional needs (SEMH, SEND, ASD, ADHD, or challenging behaviour).
  • Help students manage conflict, improve communication, and make positive choices.
  • Monitor behaviour and progress, keeping accurate records and providing feedback to staff.
  • Support students inside and outside the classroom during lessons, breaks, and other activities.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment aligning with safeguarding policies.
  • Follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and child protection.

Key Responsibilities
