Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for Behaviour Mentor roles in Bristol. You will work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils, supporting SEMH, ASC, ADHD and other needs to foster engagement and positive behaviours in school settings.

Successful applicants will have experience with children or young people, excellent relationship-building skills, and a calm, patient approach. The role offers long-term opportunities, ongoing CPD, and potential progression into permanent contracts.

Looking for a role where you can genuinely change a young person's future?

We're recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work within supportive schools across Bristol, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both in and out of the classroom.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in education, youth work, support work, sports coaching, residential care, mental health support, or behaviour mentoring. We also welcome applications from Psychology, Criminology, Education and Health & Social Care graduates who have practical experience working with children or young people.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll become a trusted adult for pupils who need additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, confidence, engagement and social development.

The Role

You will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, providing the guidance, consistency and encouragement they need to succeed in school.

You may support pupils with:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Behavioural challenges
  • Additional learning needs
  • Trauma-informed support requirements

Your role will focus on building positive relationships, promoting engagement and helping pupils develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive.
