Job summary

The Bedford Hotel Belfast in the heart of the city is seeking a bartender to join the Ledger Library and The Nineteen Hundred Restaurant team on Fridays and Saturdays from 15:00 to 23:30. You will deliver exceptional service and craft beverages in a boutique hotel setting.

Bring mixology experience, a warm personality, and strong teamwork to create memorable guest experiences. Training and development opportunities, plus a supportive culture, are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous bar service experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Mixology experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and organisational skills.
• Shifts—availability to cover Friday and Saturday 1500–2330.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests.
• Complete setup and close-down of the bar, including liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies.
• Ensure high standard of preparation and presentation; follow standards.
• Familiarise with beverage menus and provide knowledgeable drink recommendations.
• Take beverage orders and relay to the bar promptly and accurately.
• Maintain high standard of restaurant and back-of-house cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ensure cash, charge, float and till procedures are followed.
• Prepare beverages consistently; create cocktails following mixology guides.
• Assist in The Nineteen Hundred Restaurant and Cafe Bar as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with all hotel departments.
• Complete any other reasonable tasks as delegated by Line Manager.

The Bedford Hotel Belfast is a prestigious boutique hotel set within the iconic Scottish Mutual Building in the heart of the city. With 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms, The Nineteen Hundred Restaurant and Cafe Bar, and exclusive private dining in The Ledger Library. The Bedford Hotel Belfast is setting new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.

Role Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day service within the Ledger Library providing exceptional service to our residents and VIPs on a Friday and Saturday.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assistin creating a warm and welcoming environment for our guests.
• Completethe set up and closedown of thebar, including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes,glasswareand supplies.
• Ensure that the preparation and presentation of each section is of a high standard and is in line with the standards set.
• Familiarise yourself with thebeveragemenus,providing knowledgeable and creative drink recommendationsto guests.
• Take beverage orders and ensure thattheyare communicated to the bar promptly and accurately.
• Maintain a high standard ofrestaurant and back of house cleanliness and hygiene practices.
• Ensure all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in line with agreed procedures.
• Ensure all beverages are preparedconsistently and to the standards expected.
• Create cocktails following mixology guides in place, ensuring consistency and uniformity.
• Assist in The Nineteen Hundred Restaurant and Cafe Bar, as required.
• Maintain a professional working relationship with all departments in the hotel.
• Complete anyother reasonable tasks as delegated by your Line Manager.

Key Requirements:

• Previousbar service, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Previousmixology experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and organisational skills.
• Shifts - availability to cover Friday and Saturday from 1500-2330.
