Aethos London Shoreditch is seeking a proactive hotel cafe barista to join their vibrant East London venue. You will craft espresso drinks and beverages while delivering exceptional guest service in a welcoming atmosphere.

THE ROLE

A hotel café barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages while providing excellent guest service and maintaining a welcoming, lively atmosphere in the café.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality espresso-based drinks and beverages with consistency
• Deliver attentive, friendly service to hotel guests and visitors
• Maintain a spotless, well-organised café area, following all food safety and hotel standards
• Handle transactions and charge items correctly to rooms or the till
• Keep products stocked and display areas looking neat
• Support daily opening and closing procedures
• Work seamlessly with the reception, lounge, and kitchen teams to ensure a smooth guest experience

ABOUT YOU

• Ideally you would have previous experience with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel, destination fine dining restaurant or cocktail lounge/bar
• Have an open and approachable manner and thrive on interacting with people
• Have great communication skills, a sense of humour and a welcoming smile
• An understanding of what it takes to provide outstanding levels of guest service
• An eye for detail and be immaculately presented
• Previous barista, café, or hotel hospitality experience is a plus
• Confidence working in a fast-paced setting
• Good attention to detail and commitment to presentation
• Ability to multitask and stay organised
• Willingness to learn the hotel’s standards and systems
