Job summary

Metro Pub Co - Bra_302 is seeking an Assistant Manager/Bar Manager in Glasgow to join our busy pub. You will support the General Manager, lead from the front, and drive wet sales while developing a high-performing team to create memorable customer experiences.

You will manage stock, ordering and wastage, oversee bar profitability, recruitment, training and performance management, and ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety and food safety standards as you help hit KPIs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Bar Manager or Supervisor within a busy hospitality environment.
• Passion for delivering amazing customer experiences.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience managing stock, ordering and waste/cost control.
• Ability to think on your feet during busy service periods.
• Attention to detail and high standards.
• Knowledge of drinks, cocktails and premium products is advantageous.
• Sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely and understand allergen controls.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in all aspects of running the business, taking responsibility for the pub in their absence.
• Lead and develop the bar team to deliver exceptional service and maximise sales opportunities.
• Take ownership of stock control, ordering, wastage management and bar profitability.
• Support recruitment, training, coaching and performance management across the wider pub team.
• Drive operational excellence across both front-of-house and bar operations.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, licensing requirements, health & safety and food safety procedures.
• Contribute to labour management, shift planning and achieving business KPIs.
