Newlands Care Home in Heaton Moor, Stockport, provides residential and nursing care with a caring team. The Senior Care Assistant will guide and support the team, ensure safe, high-quality, person-centred care and oversee daily shift operations.

You will monitor residents, manage medication, maintain records, communicate with families and healthcare professionals, and contribute to ongoing staff development in a supportive, award-winning environment.

Qualifications

• SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care required at minimum.
• Level 3 desirable or willingness to progress.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; caring approach.

About Newlands Care Home

Our 69 bedded home provides residential and nursing care in the peaceful Heaton Moor area of Stockport. Newlands offers stylish living spaces, beautiful gardens and the luxury Beeches Suite, alongside a friendly team who are passionate about delivering kind care and making a difference every day.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Contracted to 0 hours per week
• Paid [PVG/DBS], pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.
You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• [SVQ/NVQ] Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
