Job summary

Bluebell View Care Home in Oswestry, Shropshire, is hiring a Senior Care Assistant for day shifts on a full-time contract (44 hours per week). You will guide and support the care team, oversee medication administration, monitor residents' wellbeing and ensure accurate care records, while communicating with families and healthcare professionals to maintain high-quality, person-centred care.

We require SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (level 3 desirable) and medication competency.

About Bluebell View
Bluebell View is an 80 bed care home in Oswestry, Shropshire, providing residential, nursing and residential dementia care. Our dedicated team works together to deliver high quality, person centred care, supporting residents to live with dignity, independence and comfort in a welcoming environment.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid [PVG/DBS], pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.
You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
We Are Looking For

• [SVQ/NVQ] Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
