Job summary

Newlands Care Home in Stockport is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join night shifts. You will guide a team to deliver safe, person‑centred care, oversee medications and ensure continuity of care across residents.

You will maintain care records and liaise with families and healthcare professionals. NVQ2 is required (Level 3 desirable) with competency in medication administration; strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard.
• Oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
• Maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care

Our 69 bedded home provides residential and nursing care in the peaceful Heaton Moor area of Stockport. Newlands offers stylish living spaces, beautiful gardens and the luxury Beeches Suite, alongside a friendly team who are passionate about delivering kind care and making a difference every day.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.35 - £14.95 per hour
• Contracted to 33 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
• This vacancy is for Night shifts

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
