A healthcare provider in London is seeking a qualified HCPC registered professional to lead the Point of Care Testing (POCT) service. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a patient-focused, governance-led POCT service, managing a multidisciplinary team across facilities. Strong communication and time management skills are essential, along with experience in implementing POCT governance frameworks. This role emphasizes enhancing patient care through innovative diagnostics at appropriate access points.
We are seeking applications from forward thinking, well-motivated, enthusiastic individuals to take a lead role in developing and delivering Point of Care Testing (POCT) service across Barking, Havering, Redbridge University Hospital NHS Trust (King George, Queen's Hospitals and community hospital settings).
You will be responsible for delivering a patient-focused, governance-led POCT service, including operational planning, policy and procedure development, guidance, and ensuring a safe and high-quality POCT service aligned with national POCT strategies.
You will support the design, assessment, implementation and maintenance of POCT services outside traditional laboratory settings, ensuring diagnostics are embedded in the patient pathway at the most appropriate and accessible point to facilitate care decisions.
You should possess excellent communication and time management skills and a systematic, flexible approach to work. The successful candidate will work as part of the team delivering the POCT service and lead the POCT team based at Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital, including HCPC registered staff and Associate practitioners.
Provides an overarching role facilitating the comprehensive management, compliance monitoring and reporting on all POCT devices throughout the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in line with local and national accreditation, clinical governance and risk management requirements.
