Job Title: Band 6 Paediatric Audiologist

About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated Band 6 Paediatric Audiologist to join a well-established team in Watford. This ongoing full-time role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and their families by delivering high-quality audiological care. If you are passionate about paediatrics and committed to clinical excellence, this could be the ideal position for you.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out the full range of diagnostic, technical, and rehabilitative audiology procedures for paediatric patients in accordance with BSA and departmental standards.

Perform history taking, otoscopy, pure tone audiometry, VRA, performance audiometry, tympanometry, speech testing, and otoacoustic emissions testing.

Deliver clear advice, counselling, and support to families and carers regarding hearing loss and management options.

Prepare detailed written assessments and recommend further investigation where necessary, in line with established protocols.

Participate in departmental peer reviews, case discussions, and service planning.

Assist senior audiologists with hearing aid fittings, ear mould impressions, repairs, and support for babies and young children using the Children’s Hearing Aid Service.

Ensure clinical areas are maintained to a high standard, with regular equipment calibration, cleaning, and stock control.

Work flexibly across Trust locations, providing service coverage as required.

Experience in paediatric audiology, including the full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures.

Ability to work across multiple sites—own transport and a valid driving licence are required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with children and families.

Strong organisational abilities and commitment to service quality and patient care.
